Has anyone tried acupuncture to help manage the pain and to perhaps assist in weight loss?

Yes, I have used it for pain control. You must bear in mind that the results are cumulative. A single visit is not going to do it. I went for quite a while but had to stop as it was not covered under my health care plan. If I was able to afford it, I would go on a weekly basis. Take care.

I forgot one key point. After accupuncture, it is common to feel much worse than when you went in for treatment. It can take several days for that to pass. Getting through that phase can be very challenging. I still think accupuncture was very helpful regardless of the intial setback.

Hi peek_boo

I had tried acupuncture because my back was killing me, and no amount of drugs or excercise helped me. After several visits my pain lessened and now I go only when I need it, and it works for me. But then I also do chiro so I cannot say which works best.

For me trying to keep up with my fibro flare and having less pain everyday.

I guess the combination works for me.
