I dont' know if Lyrica is approved yet. I haven't found medication any more beneficial than over the counter pain meds. I do tale Ambien to help sleep at night.

Very excited to try the Pregabalin (lycria)!!! I think people are taking too much at first, in the study you start at 50-75mg and work your way up to 300-475mg a day to avoid side effects. I just got the older drug Gabapentin and am going to try it out for a month in low doses working my way up. I'll let you know if it works.

I started Lyrica three weeks ago and at first I was dizzy but it was because I took two 75mg caps in the morning and two more midday that was too close together when I took as directed further a part no problem and I see a great inprovement to date.

Lyrica is very expensive if you do not have insurance-is it worth me filling the prescription anyway? Have'nt tried it yet!

Lyrica for me made me dizzy (bang into walls dizzy). Constipated, didn't feel the pain relief I was told I would-would have loved for it to make me sleepy enough to sleep at night but there was not difference there except that my brain fog was severe enough that I couldn't even read mail or pay bills. Am still taking 300mg x 3/d of Gabapentin because of the muscle spasms that can turn into seizure like movements that are horrible and the muscles hurt so much. I haven't had any side effects directly to it so I'll continue on it for a while.

I have just started lyrica and am just taking 75mg at night. I'm dizzy as heck and have not decided if it's a winner. Leg pain is less though. I REALLLY wanted xyrem, but it was too much trouble for my Dr to get enrolled as he's too busy with pt load etc. Someone wrote that it was a dangerous drug. It was in health fodd stores for years and one doctor who uses it for his patients with cronic pain to get deep sleep and heal, believes it is the body's natural hormone for sleep. All of these drugs could be labeled dangerous when someone stupidly abuses them. Tylenol causes so many liver failures and deaths per year! I spoke to the company as

I have read many articles about Xyrem, also know as Sodium Oxybate (Gamma hydroxybutyric acid), or GHB. I am convinced that this medication is very safe if taken as directed. When abused it is not even the same medication that you would get from a pharmacy, but something "cooked" up with the same chemicals. I am looking forward to trying this med. Does anyone out there have some personal experience with this. If so, I would love to hear from you.
