Yes - I take 7.5 mg every day for pain associated with advanced osteoarthitis.
Sounds more like the dose was too high rather than being allergic. I assume you were given the 15mg pill. My mother was given the 15mg pill and nearly passed out in the grocery store. Same symptoms; ringing ears, felt drunk and nausea.
About the only thing you can do is to flush it out of your system by drinking a lot of water.
And I mean water, not coffee or soda.
If you were given this medication to stop "that irritating tingling" than I think gabapentin would be a better choice. Meloxicam is like Celebrex which is used to treat inflammation from arthitis. Gabapentin is used to treat nerve pain (like tingling and shooting electrical-like pain). I take my dose at night so I sleep off some of the side effects.
I'm not sure why you were taking such a huge dose of ibuprofen. But if it is for pain associated with Fibromyalgia (FMS) there are a lot better choices. If nothing else, your liver and stomach will thank you. For wide spread pain in addition to the electrical, tingling stuff have you tried Cymbalta, Savella or Lyrica? I use Cymbalta and it has helped alot.
Do you have a rheumotologist? If you need to find a fibro-friendly rheumy in your area, go to the National Fibromyalgia Association website. Ask them for a referral in your area.
I hope you feel better soon. Take care.
