I take Topamax, the gentle increase in doses has worked as a migraine preventative. For Fibro it makes life bareable. Topamax along with Robaxin as a muscle relaxer and Xanax at night for sleep. I only have a bad break through set of days every so often. I watch my diet and my activities and stay away from fumes/chemicals. Hope this helps.

Topamax has worked well for some Fibro sufferers, but I had a very bad time with it. I started very low and increased the dosage very slowly, but experienced every side effects listed, including panic attacks, which I haven't fully recovered from. One thing you should be aware of taking Topamax is that it can cause metabolic acidosis in some people (not all).

Be careful. Topamax caused me vision problems, somnolence and dizziness. Good luck.

I took topomax for migraine prevention and had to stop taking it because it made me so slow in thinking, like I was retarded or something.
