I am new to this board, but I'll tell you my experience. I have been on patch for one year due to back injury, fms and other problems. I have not experienced any problems associated with patches. Just make sure you keep a log of when you put it on, don't put on more than rxd, don't lay down to go to sleep within about three hours of putting it on and don't take any of your other meds when you apply it. I also date and time mine so if I am incapcitated, medical personnel can look to see what I am on and how many mcgs. I also prefer the patches that do not have the bladder pouch. It can crack and leak, so I prefer the "solid" type that looks like a thick tape patch. If you tell your pharm you do not want the patches with the bladders, they usually know what you mean.
