treatment of fibromyalgia

My mother has been diagnosed just this last week - having suffered for many years, and told that it was all in the mind - something I have been told too - and she is told that the only treatment is using steroids down which route she is unwilling to go! Does any one have any non-wacky ideas as to how she should cope with this ie diet, excercise etc. She is overweight and is not inclined to go swimming or to the gym

Hi Katrina, i don't understand how someone can say it's all in the mind and then recommend steroids as the treatment! sorry i can't be of any assistance, however hopefully with this being bumped to the top, someone will know what could help. i know there are other posts about diets that help with fibromyalgia. all the best to you and your mother. vetty
