Stay away from sugar. High protien helps. Health departments may be able to help money wise or tell you who to see for help.

Hi Abbott, like Jean says stay away from sugar. Try to stay on a natural diet. Chemical additives really mess us up. I hope your brother finds some comfort, I'm also a male with fibro. Take care.

I had acute Fibromyalgia symptoms for 8 years. Doctor’s prescribed a mind numbing array of medication to deal with the debilitating pain caused by Fibromyalgia. Then my life as a sick person changed forever. I discovered by accident that I am allergic to Nightshade vegetables. I would eat tomatoes, potatoes and bell peppers almost everyday. Afterward, my rib cage would become inflamed, and all of my soft tissue felt like it was on fire. The prescribed medication dulled my brain but not the pain. Discovering that I suffer from food allergies and not some mystery disease gave me back my life. Now, I basically eat like a macrobiotic vegetarian. I'm off of 7 out of 9 of the drugs they had me on and I feel better! I hope someone reads this, tries eliminating nightshades and feels better too.
