I'm right there with you. I'm 51 years old and have had fibro for about 25 years. The poor memory makes me seem really dense, especially to people who don't know me. When I speak I sometimes use words that have absolutely no bearing to the conversation. I usually am not even aware I've done it until I see someone's facial expression. Then I feel the need to apologize and explain I have fibro. That fibro fog can really be a pain! Try to keep a sense of humor - especially when your symptoms are at their worse. It really does feel good to laugh!

Answer:
Yeah that fog can be really thick. I used to laugh at my husband when he pronounced certain words, now I'm the one who can't read a sentence out loud without screwing up. Until I was diagnosed, I thought I was becoming dislexic or something. Also when I try to talk to my husband about something, he always interrupts, ;and bam! I've lost my train of thought and that really annoys me. I have to keep a notepad by my bed, cause that's usually when I remember things I need to do or to get. And laughing at yourself is probably a good idea.

Answer:
Welcome to the club. My kids think I'm senile or on the verge of Alzheimers. My late husband understood the fog, but the kids don't. It's been so long since I've had any real fog, it's now getting worse.

I've been struggling with this for a while. I just laughed it off and said it was part-timers. When I found this site a few weeks ago, I realized it was part of FM. I am glad to know it. Not knowing is so much worse!
