Answer:
I don't know the answer to your question, but a simple Web search will lead you to numerous articles that link fibromyalgia symptoms and vitamin D deficiency. I recently found out that I am Vitamin D deficient and I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia for 7 years. I just began a regimin of 20 minutes per day of sun time with no sun screen during off peak hours. It hardly seems possible that something so simple could account for the wide array of symptoms, but at this point I am willing to give it a try.

Answer:
A web search does turn up a lot of articles relating Vitamin D deficiencies to Fibromyalgia. I became curious about a possible link after being diagnosed with FM and a serious Vitamin D deficiency at the same time.

I was diagnosed with Vit D deficiency 11 years ago, two years after my symptoms started, it took that long to convince my GP that there was something wrong with me.

Answer:
Michele, Do you have any idea what caused your vitamin D deficiency? My rheumatologist blamed it on my gastric bypass. I was diagnosed with FM 4 years before my surgery and suffered with it long before that. I recently was diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency which improved slightly with the treatment. Teresa, Your Dr. needs to specify what vitamins he wants tested for.

Answer:
If you live in areas of high rainfall like I do (Vancouver, BC) then assume you will be Vit D deficient. I always take Vit D suppliments because we just don't get enough sun here especially in the winter.

Answer:
I have Vit D Deficiency. I am taking 50,000 units of D by prescription once a week. It hasn't made a dent in my fibro symptoms. I have read many articles on MS having a root cause in D deficiency though.
