I have chronic problems with dizziness, vertigo, and headaches. I suggest you see a neurologist. My headaches are actually unrelated, they're from tension in my postural neck muscles. The dizziness and vertigo for me is because of orthostatic hypotension - my neurologist found that when I move, particularly going from sitting to standing, my blood pressure plummets. Sometimes I even fall down and black out for a few seconds. It's not like what you have, but still. It's easy to want a single reason for every problem but it's possible that the symptoms have different causes. The sharp pains might just be from the FMS. I get pains in my wrists and ankles and knees frequently. Like I said, I suggest a neurologist. It can take awhile to get in to see one, but if they're good they're worth it.

Roughly 2/3rds of FMS patients have problems with dizziness or vertigo. It is one of the many "perks" associated with FMS. You should see your doctor and discuss this problem. It may or may not be part of fibromyalgia. There are many other things that can cause dizziness. Take care.
