Can fibromyalgia affect balance

My Mother has been diganosed with having fibromyalgia, alot of the sympons that I have read seem to be consistant with hers however she has recently been falling /loosing her balance and sometimes has no idea why, I am quite worried about this as it is becoming more frequent, is this a factor of this or could it be linked to something else

I believe it is another symptom. Dizziness, etc..I have it too. Worse when extra tired.

Fibromyalgia and balance does go hand in hand, I've been going through it myself, as a matter of fact I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to see about it. I've been told that my FM is getting worse so maybe it goes with how bad your mothers FM is.

i get vertigo and i get lightheaded and i loose my balance

Hi Carole: I will suggest that you see a neurologist they will need a referral so seeing your GP might help first, let him/her know what is going on.

Why does fibro have so many symtems and and where does it come from?How bad does it get?

I feel that it could be fibromyalgia, but it could also be Multiple Sclerosis. I was diagnosised with fibromyalgia years before my MS diagnosis in Oct 2002. Check it out.
